Tosia Leniarska and Lauren Auder

UK / Poland

One for sorrow two for joy too is a project by Lauren Auder and Tosia Leniarska.

Lauren Auder is a Franco-English musician and writer based in London, whose work tracks the connections of everyday minutiae to the large scale of myth-making and the formation of universal narratives. Her debut LP was released in 2023, with its follow-up scheduled for 2026. Her work has been critically acclaimed by outlets such as The Guardian, Pitchfork and The Evening Standard.

Tosia Leniarska is a writer and curator based between London and Warsaw. She was Assistant Director at Emalin in London until 2025. In 2020-2023, Leniarska contributed to developing Kem School, an alter-institutional artist residency in Warsaw focused on critical practice and expanded choreography. Her writing has appeared in artist books and publications such as The Serpentine Reader, Flash Art, Real Review, Elephant Magazine, Apartamento and Buffalo Zine. She has given talks and workshops in venues including Tate Modern, ICA London, Sadie Coles HQ and Kem School. In London, you can usually see a permanent exhibition curated by her at La Camionera, a lesbian bar in Hackney.
