Closing weekend at the 13th Kaunas Biennial

The 13th Kaunas Biennial titled “Once Upon Another Time… gyveno jie jau kitaip” closing weekend, 18th-20th of February presents the following events.

The 13th Kaunas Biennial and VMU Art Gallery “101” presents the special project with the Belarusian students from the European Humanities University coordinated by Artūras Raila (Lithuania).

18th of February (Friday) at the VMU Art Gallery “101”:

16.00 – 16.30  Aliona Makhnach “The Power of Mimesis. From Cave Paintings to Garages”, performative lecture.

16.30 – 17.30  Exhibition “Insomnia” review by Milda Gineikaitė and Artūras Raila.

17.30 – 17.45  Darya Karalkova “Home Uncanny Home”, performance.

Free entrance.

The special tour of the exposition at the House of Basketball:

Tour in English with the curator Josée Drouin-Brisebois (CA) on the 19th of February (Saturday) 12.00-13.30 and 20th of February (Sunday) 15.00-16.30

We recommend visiting the performative installation by Emilija Škarnulytė, Absolute dating (2021) commissioned for the Kaunas Biennial on Feb 19-20 11:00 h, 12:00 h, 14:00 h, 16:00 h, 17:00 h in the Mammals Hall, on the first floor of the Zoology museum.

Entry with the 13th Kaunas Biennial* ticket or Zoology Museums ticket.

*This ticket is valid for the exhibition at the House of Basketball, Devils’ museum and Zoology museum.

 

The special online film programme available at filmai.bienale.lt till the end of 20th of February.

 

The main exhibition at the House of Basketball, Tadas Ivanauskas Zoology Museum and the Devil Museum, VMU art gallery “101” is opened till the 20th of February.

 

The exhibition is organized by Kaunas Biennial. The project is supported by the Lithuanian Council for Culture, Kaunas City Municipality and with the support of the Canada Council for the Arts. The event is presented in collaboration with the Office of the Embassy of Canada to Lithuania and is a part of the project Kaunas European Capital of Culture 2022.
