The title of Laura Kaminskaitė’s new work is both enigmatic and programmatic at the same time. A flow ofpoetic musings reflectsupon the precarious nature of contemporary existenceand its moments of overlap with the conception and reception of a work of art.Its own unfolding elsewhere is the latest iteration in Kaminskaitė’s ongoing experiments with the agency of a single piece of art within the expansive fabric of the exhibition environment. The piece renegotiates the relationship between a work of art and its setting by allowing its contemplative mood to infiltrate other works around it while at the same time also being subjected to their influence. Situatedbeyond the constraintof objects, Kaminskaitė’s conceptual approachfacilitatesdifferent lives for a work of art in the intangible, ever-shifting nature of each viewer’s perception of it.
