Exhibition “Deep Rivers Flow Silently” opened – photoreportage

Kaunas Biennial presents an exhibition for contemporary textiles of ten artists from Japan and Lithuania “Deep Rivers Flow Silently”.

This exposition is part of an international textile art project, which began in Japan this spring. The creative work of artists Laima Oržekauskienė-Ore, Lina Jonikė and Monika Žaltauskaitė-Grašienė was exhibited at the prestigious art gallery „GalleryGalery“ in Kyoto. Two young artists from Lithuania – Giedrė Antanavičienė and Greta Kardi-Kardišiūtė  – joined the famous international artists at M. K. Čiurlionis National Museum of Art. Japan’s textile in Kaunas is represented by Nobuko Hiroi, Suzumi Noda, Haruko Homma, Yoshiko Tanabe and Megumi Kishida.

The exhibition reveals the aspects of the inner proximity of two geographically distant cultures.

Exposition is open at the M. Žilinskas Art Gallery until the 1st of September.
