Juozas Zikaras
Juozas Zikaras (1881-1944) is one of the first Lithuanian professional sculptors. He studied academic sculpture and remained faithful to realism. He designed the first Lithuanian coins, produced sculptural portraits of various prominent Lithuanians, as well as sculptures and reliefs on mytological, religious and social themes. Arguably his best known work is the Statue of Liberty in Kaunas (see page 31).
