Kaunas Biennial is best known for presenting Lithuania’s international festival of contemporary art in textiles. TEXTILE 09 involves artists working with others to create opportunities for direct experience and live examination of art production. The main part of the biennial consists of 30 projects’ residency programme LIVE EXAMINATION which was realised by 60 artists from 20 countries during October. Vanues: M. Žilinskas Art Gallery (Nepriklausomybės a. 12, Kaunas) and Kaunas Picture Gallery (K.Donelaičio g. 16, Kaunas). Nine satellite exhibitions are also programmed to run parallel to the residencies. An innovation of the 7th edition of Kaunas Biennial is the Education Programme for families and young people. Museum hours: Tuesday-Sunday 11 am - 5 pm. DISCOVER INTERACT ENJOY
